Planning, Housing & Community Services

The Planning, Housing and Community Services department oversees the implementation of: transportation planning; community planning and  development review; cultural heritage planning; natural environment stewardship and community housing - including the Affordable Housing Strategy.

 
The department is more specifically responsible for: the Regional Official Plan; Grand River Transit planning; transportation demand management; Regionally-owned forest tracts and operation and programming of Regional museums and township libraries.

 
The department is located on the eighth floor of Regional Headquarters at 150 Frederick St., Kitchener.
